DANZ - far-left monument in photo with two TANZ monuments; - See also: TANZ. Are DANZ and TANZ related, and if so, how? A Tanz descendant, Bob Carroll, says in an email dated 9/13/2005 to fjzclu@aol.com "I'm sure there is a relationship between the Danz and Tanz families. I have a ship manifest from Caspar and Elizabeth. They were actually listed as Danz on the manifest, not Tanz. Apparently they changed the spelling of their name after they immigrated to the U.S. Christian [Tanz] also came over on the same ship and also used the last name Danz on the ship..." NOTE: The map of the cemetery shows Lot 10 as one-half "Gottfried Ronneberger" and one-half "Albert Tanz".
Danz, Albert - No "Albert Danz" appears to be buried here, but he is mentioned in the inscription on the monument of Alma Ida Danz (below) "wife of Albert Danz". Adjacent to the south of the Alma Ida Danz monument are two TANZ monuments, but there is no known relationship at this time -- although all three monuments are located on map in Lot 10 "Albert Tanz" and "Gottfried Ronneberger".
